Common strategy to test IoT for different industries

IoT has taken the world by storm. It is a global ecosystem of information and technologies connected to each other. The heterogeneous nature of this ecosystem has posed a huge challenge to many aspects of testing. As more and more industries are adopting IoT, the testers have to adapt their testing to each specific industry, causing them to spend a lot of time in formulating their strategies and deciding on the types of testing to be performed.

In my paper, I am explaining about a generic strategy that can be applied in all IoT based applications. This involves few types of tests which will be common to all irrespective to what industry they belong to. The strategy will have few test types and I will explain how these test types work everywhere.

As an example I will take healthcare industry and explain how my generic tests work fine there.

This will help the testers begin quickly and perform some basic tests before jumping on to the industry specific tests.

I love to read and write and speak. IoT is my latest love and this would be my 4th conference presentation on IoT. My speaking profile started in 2012 and I am lucky enough to have spoken across Europe, at least once every year since 2012. Key conferences include TestingUnited 2019, QA&Test, Bilbao Spain in 2012, 2016 and 2018, ExpoQA Madrid 2015, TestingCup 2017, Belgrade Testing Conference 2018, Poznan Meetups like PTaQ, WrotQA and Girls who Test in 2017 and 2018.

I work as a Sr. Test Lead for Metacube software, jaipur India. I have proven experience in refining processes for smoother deliveries across the globe. The projects give me stories and I collect the interesting ones to present.
