The role of Quality Goals and real time KPIs monitoring in Embedded Solutions delivery

We are living in the Software Driven world with fast accelerating technology, where we aim for sustainability and solving global challenges with very complicated Software solutions. No matter what embedded domain we work in: Climate Solutions, Power Grids, Autonomous Driving etc. - our deliveries are more and more complicated. The QA of them becomes a challenge and we and our stakeholders need clear KPIs and Quality Goals to make sure we are on the correct path. Based on the experience in my HVAC domain based on usage of both V-model and feature driven development concept I want to open a discussion how to help navigate the delivery teams in their solution implementations. We will go through the definition of the Quality goals and enablement of real-time monitoring for deliveries to show its crucial impact on driving to achievement of the Quality Goals and improving the negative KPIs. I will show some examples of process oriented and product-oriented QA goals and how they impacted our organisational objectives and project teams daily work. We will see how the KPIs dedicated for QA affect the projects and business plans. With some examples I will show you best practices in selecting and using the Quality KPIs. I will go through some examples on how to address and improve negative KPIs related to quality and software delivery and what might be future trends in QA Monitoring and KPIs for embedded software projects.
